About the Collection
Drawing style inspiration from the 1940s-50s, the Nicole Lenzen collection truly represents the modern reconstruction of a timeless era. The feminine, flattering silhouettes and high quality, long-lasting fabrics provide a perfect balance between tradition and a modern way-of-life. Nicole Lenzen’s attention to the perfect fit enables women across a variety of body types to look beautiful, and feel confident and unique in what they wear.
Inspired by swing dancing, the Nicole Lenzen collection is designed and tailored for movement. The collection features elegant, feminine silhouettes in performance silks that provide comfort and practicality. The line includes highly adaptable dresses, rompers, and separates that impress everywhere from the boardroom to happy hour.
The Nicole Lenzen collection is carefully constructed of performance-based and natural fibres sourced from fair-trade and low-impact suppliers. Nicole Lenzen’s designs are ethically produced by NYC-based family-run businesses, which guarantees a superior level of quality and control while supporting the local economy.
Meet the Designer
Contemporary fashion designer Nicole Lenzen is a true couturière whose timeless garments express the beauty of the individual through sophisticated design, custom fit, and hand-made construction. As a child she was evenly divided between right and left-brained activities, and her decision to focus on the creation of couture gowns ultimately provided the perfect opportunity for her to meld both her artistic and technical abilities. The Brooklyn-based designer welcomes the challenges of complex pattern making and construction for each individual client’s body type as well as the limitations posed by a deconstructed vintage garment.
Lenzen has previously worked as a product development and technical design consultant for fashion names such as Charlotte Ronson, Calvin Klein, and GIII Apparel. With an extensive background in computer science, she also spent the days of the dot-com era working in Silicon Valley, while moonlighting as a costume designer for theatrical performances in the Bay Area.
Beyond the design studio, Nicole actively practices low-impact living, and is a lover of spur of the moment travel, swing dancing until she’s dizzy, stocking her kitchen with farmers’ market goodies, and taking deep breaths in the great outdoors. Using her single-speed bike as her primary means of transportation, she can be spotted riding around NYC to regularly support local art, music, design, and cultural activities.
